Apple roly poly apple turnovers recipe details
- Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2 Tablespoons soft butter
- 1 egg
- About 1 cup milk
Combine 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water; cook until dissolved and set aside. Mix together flour, baking powder, 1 Tablespoon sugar, salt, and butter. Beat egg and put in measuring cup, fill with milk to equal 1 level cup, then mix with above dry ingredients. Roll out like pie dough. Spread with apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, and a little nutmeg. Roll up like jelly roll and score about 1 inch all the way across. Place in oblong pan. Pour sugar water mixture over and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm with milk.
