Apple phyllo bake recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound sweet butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 pound brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1-1/2 cups quick oats
- 1/2 cup flour
- 4 ounces raisins (or 1/2 box)
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
- 6 Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored & sliced)
- phyllo dough
- 1/4 pound melted butter
In a mixture set on medium speed, cream 1/2 pound butter with brown and granulated sugar. When the butter-sugar mixture is soft and fluffy, turn the mixer down to a slow speed. Add vanilla, salt and slowly incorporate the flour, quick oats, cinnamon and raisins. Slowly stir in all but one of the sliced apples. In an individual 5-inch shallow baking dish, arrange 4 half sheets of phyllo dough across the dish, letting edges hang over. Brush the phyllo with a little melted butter. Place enough mixture in each baking dish to fill to the rim. Fold the phyllo edges over the mixture. Garnish with apple slices. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for approximately 15 minutes. Serve topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
