American style pan baked pizza recipe details
|For the dough:|
|3 medium||eggs, separated|
|175 g||spelt flour|
|200 g||wheat flour|
|20 g||fresh yeast, crumbled|
|500 ml||lukewarm milk|
|3 tbsp||butter, melted|
|For the topping:|
|100 g||pickled peppers, sliced|
|150 g||salami, sliced|
|125 g||Mozzarella cheese, sliced|
|100 g||freshly grated Parmesan cheese, grated|
|250 ml||thick tomato sauce|
|3 sprig(s)||rosemary, chopped leaves|
InstructionsIn a bowl put the egg yolks, flour, yeast, salt and the milk and stir until smooth. Allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Fold the beaten egg white and the melted butter into the batter.
Pour ¼ of the batter into a buttered ovenproof pan. Fry for 5 minutes over low-medium heat until slightly set. Spread with ¼ of the tomato sauce and top with ¼ of the salami, pickled peppers, rosemary, Mozzarella and Parmesan.
Place under the preheated grill of your oven for 5 minutes. Repeat the procedure with the remaining ingredients.
