Yankee grits details
- Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup grits
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 pinch each of dried basil and dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 Tablespoon margarine
- Paprika to garnish
Bring water to a boil, add grits and dry seasonings, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for at least 10 minutes, adding water occasionally to maintain desired consistency. The longer this simmers, the creamier it will be. Remove from heat and stir in margarine. Spoon into individual ramekins and sprinkle with paprika.
