Wholemeal walnut cake recipe details
Ingredients
300 g | wholemeal flour |
225 g | chopped walnuts |
115 g | granulated sugar |
250 ml | milk |
125 ml | vegetable oil |
1 tsp | bicarbonate of soda |
1 large | lemon, juice only |
Instructions
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 5, 190ºC, 375ºF. Grease a 2lb (900g) loaf tin and line with baking parchment.Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl. Add the milk and oil and mix thoroughly. Add the lemon juice and mix well.
Transfer to tin and bake for about 30 minutes until firm and risen. Check with skewer if done.
Allow to cool in tin for 15 minutes and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and serve well buttered.
