Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 pound penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup vodka
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sliced fresh basil
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil over medium heat. Cook pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Drain.
2. Combine butter and oil in a skillet and set over medium heat. Cook garlic in hot oil for 1 minute, then add vodka. Simmer until vodka measures about 1/2 cup.
3. Stir in tomatoes. Simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes, until tomatoes are hot and fragrant. Then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and add cream and basil.
4. Serve sauce tossed with hot penne pasta.
