Versatile chicken pie recipe details
Ingredients
6 | chicken pieces, meaty |
2 medium | onions, sliced |
2 large | carrots, peeled and sliced |
250 g | mushrooms, sliced |
8 | whole cloves |
5 ml | salt |
5 ml | pepper |
1 packet(s) | Maggie mushroom soup powder |

Instructions
Brown the chicken pieces in a cast iron dish. Fill with water until chicken pieces are submerged.Place the raw carrots, onion, mushroom, cloves, salt and pepper in dish. Bring to boil and simmer until the meat falls off the bone.
Take cloves and chicken bones out if making chicken pie.
Add a little cold water to the packet of mushroom soup before adding it to the dish.
The more you stir, the more stringy your pie will be. Allow to thicken on low heat.
Serve withrice or noodles, or place puff pastry on top to make a pie. Freezes well.
