Turnip and potato casserole recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | potatoes, peeled and sliced |
250 ml | milk |
300 g | carrots, peeled and sliced |
500 g | turnip, peeled and sliced |
150 g | grated Gouda cheese |
1 bunch(es) | parsley, chopped |
4 tbsp | sunflower seeds |
2 tbsp | butter |
2 tbsp | flour |
250 ml | vegetable stock |
salt and pepper |
Instructions
Cook the potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 175°C.In a pan heat the butter. Stir in the flour and cook stirring until pale yellow. Whisk in the milk and the stock. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a wire whisk and cook for 4-5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir in the parsley and half of the cheese.
Divide the potatoes, carrots, turnips and the sunflower seeds in a buttered casserole dish. Pour over the sauce and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
