Tregaron broth recipe details
Ingredients
1 | turnip, peeled and diced |
1 stalk(s) | leek, sliced |
1 | white cabbage, sliced |
450 g | potatoes, peeled and diced |
450 g | lean beef, diced |
650 g | bacon, diced |
200 g | carrots, sliced |
200 g | parsnip, peeled and sliced |
1 tbsp | cornflour |
2 l | water |
2 tbsp | lard |
salt and pepper |
Instructions
In a saucepan, melt the lard. Fry the bacon and the beef until golden and crispy. Stir in the vegetables and fry stirring for 3-4 minutes. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes.Combine some cornflour with a splash of cold water and stir in. Simmer until thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper and cook for 5 more minutes.
