Tomato and white wine sauce recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | plum tomatoes, peeled |
1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
1 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
1 tbsp | tomato puree |
1 tbsp | olive oil |
200 ml | white wine |
1 tbsp | fresh basil, chopped |
salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Gently fry the onion and garlic with a bit of oil until softened.Add the tomatoes, the tomato puree and white wine. Simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened. Stir occasionally.
Add basil and season to taste.
This tomato sauce is very versatile: simply add canned fish or defrosted seafood to make a richer sauce for your favourite pasta.
