The captain's french toast recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1-1/2 cups orange juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 10 to 12 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon orange peel
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup honey
- cinnamon swirl bread, cubed
Spread bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan with 1/2 cup soft butter, 2 teaspoons and 1/4 cup honey. Cover bottom with 10 slices of cinnamon swirl bread that have been cubed. Works also when layered. Cover all with the milk, orange juice, sugar, eggs, cinnamon and orange peel, cover with foil and let sit overnight. May also be baked right away.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until puffed and lightly browned. Remove foil after 35 minutes.
