Once you’ve had Butt Chicken, you will NEVER want chicken cooked ANY other way! It will be the juiciest, tender, most flavorful bird that falls off the bone and just plain melts in your mouth! DEEEE-LISH!
Ready in: 1 hour 30 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1 whole chicken
- 1 lemon, or other citrus fruit, sliced
- spices (your choice)
- 1 can beer
- 1/4 chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hour 15 mins1. Wash whole chicken thoroughly. Use a sharp knife to separate the skin from the meat on the breast and back, but don’t remove it. Place sliced citrus between skin and meat, and sprinkle with spices inside and outside of bird.
2. Drink 1/2 can of beer. In can with remaining beer, add chopped onion and garlic and any spices you wish. Place beer can on cookie sheet.
3. Put whole chicken (butt side down) on top of beer can so chicken will sit on can and the legs help to balance it so it won’t tip over.
4. Carefully place on the hot grill and close lid, cook until the breast reaches 180 degrees F, measured with a meat thermometer.
