Tabbouleh recipe details
Ingredients
200 g | couscous |
400 ml | hot water |
4 | tomatoes |
1 small | cucumber |
5 tbsp | vegetable oil, e.g.olive oil |
5 tbsp | lemon juice |
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste | |
1 bunch(es) | fresh mint |
200 g | diced gouda cheese (if desired) |
Instructions
In a large bowl, pour the boiling water over the couscous and allow to soak for 15-30 minutes.During this time, cut the tomatoes and cucumber into small pieces. Dice some Gouda cheese (not typical arabic though) and chop the mint. Mix these ingredients with the couscous.
Prepare a dressing with the vegetable oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add to the salad and mix well.
Decorate the Tabouleh with mint and put it into the fridge for at least 1 hour.
Serve with fresh white bread as a vegetarian dish or with e.g. crispy fried fish fillets.
