Swiss Cheese Burger with Caramelized Onions on Toast

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground thyme
- Salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices bread
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 20 mins1. Place 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet and set over medium-low heat. Cook onion and thyme in melted butter for about 20 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste.
2. Stir ground beef together with Worcestershire in a mixing bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste, then shape into 4 burger patties.
3. Pour olive oil into a large skillet and set over medium-high heat. Cook burgers in hot oil for about 4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 to 4 minutes, until burgers are cooked through.
4. When burgers have 1 minute left to cook, set the cheese on top of the patties to melt.
5. While burgers are cooking, toast the bread and coat with butter. Add mustard, water, and parsley to the onions and stir to coat.
6. Build each sandwich with a burger and onions. Serve.
