Serves 3-4
200g gluten
Oil for deep frying
Sauce:
1 tbsp oil
1 onion, chopped
5 tbsp tomato sauce
2-3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp rice vinegar
½ cup water
METHOD:
- Slice gluten thinly. Use the back of chopper to flatten the gluten.
- Heat up oil in a wok and fry gluten slices. Keep turning gluten to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. Fry until gluten is golden brown. Drain excess oil.
- In a pan/ wok, heat up 1 tbsp oil. Sauté chopped onion until fragrant. Add in remaining ingredients of sauce. Bring to a boil. Add fried gluten.
- Cook until gravy is thick. Dish up and serve.
