Sweet and Sour Carrots recipe

|1 kg||carrots, cleaned and sliced|
|1||green pepper, seaded and cut into strips|
|2 medium||onion, sliced|
|250 ml||tomato puree|
|200 ml||white vinegar|
|3 tbsp||cooking oil|
|2 tsp||Worcestershire sauce|
|1 tsp||prepared mustard|
|some||black peppercorns, grounded to taste|
Boil the carrots until they are cooked but still firm, then drain.
Arrange the carrots, green pepper strips and onion slices in layers in a bowl with a lid, ending with a layer of carrots.
Mix together the remaining ingredients in a saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour the sauce over the carrots, allow to cool, cover with lid and marinate in fridge for 2 days.
