Christmas apple cake recipe details
Ingredients
For the dough: | |
500 g | flour |
50 g | butter, soft |
50 g | sugar |
1 medium | egg |
40 g | yeast, crumbled |
¼ l | milk, lukewarm |

For the topping: | |
1 ½ kg | apples, peeled, cored and sliced |
100 g | raisins |
100 g | sugar |
1 tbsp | cinnamon |
1 | lemon, juiced |
30 g | butter, melted |
Instructions
In a bowl, combine all dough ingredients. Knead until well combined. Cover and allow to soak at a warm place for 1 hour. Knead again. Arrange the dough onto a buttered baking tray.Sprinkle the apples with the lemon juice. Stir in the raisins, cinnamon and the sugar. Spinkle the cake bottom with the butter. Top with the apple mixture.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Bake for 20-30 minutes.
