Ingredients
3 kg | turkey |
50 g | butter |
For the Stuffing: | |
50 g | butter |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
180 g | breadcrumbs |
100 g | dried apricots, chopped |
50 g | walnuts, chopped |
1 tbsp | parsley, chopped |
1 tsp | nutmeg, grated |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180░C. Wash turkey and dry thoroughly.Melt butter in a frying pan, add onion and sautee until soft.
In a bowl, mix together sauteed onions, breadcrumbs, apricots, walnuts, parsley, salt and pepper, and nutmeg. Stir in egg, mix well and leave until cold.
Fill with stuffing.
Put turkey in roasting tin, and brush melted butter over turkey. Cover with greased foil and roast for 3 hours, basting occasionally. Remove foil during the last 15 minutes to brown the skin.
