- 4 Tablespoons butter
- 1 pound strawberries (Save 1/4 lb. unsliced for topping)
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese (Save 2 ounces for topping)
- 5 Tablespoons (1/3 cup) Orange Liqueur
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
- Ingredients:

- 6 ounces cream cheese

Assembly Directions:Soak strawberries in orange juice while you get the rest of the ingredients ready. Pour egg/milk mixture over 2 cups of buttered bread cubes; cook covered in microwave for 3-4 minutes; spoon cream cheese mix over mostly cooked egg/bread mix; press reserved bread cubes part way into cream. Cover and refrigerate for one hour or overnight. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes covered, and at 400 degrees for 10 minutes uncovered. Top with fresh sliced strawberries and drizzle with chilled cream cheese topping. Cut into four portions and serve warm. Final product may be a bit mushy in middle, but no one will complain!

Directions:
4 cups bread cubes, tossed in 4 tablespoons of melted butter in 8×8 inch casserole dish: Leave 2 cups in bottom of pan, reserve 2 cups for topping.

Slice strawberries and soak for 1/2 hour in orange juice with sugar, then drained and mix with cream cheese softened with orange liqueur then mix in vanilla extract, sugar, salt, and beaten egg.
Ingredients for Egg / Milk/ Juice Mix
Directions:
Mix beaten eggs with sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, milk, orange liqueur, and 1/4 cup of strawberry-soaking orange juice.
Topping
Directions:
Mix cream cheese with remaining soaking orange juice, orange liqueur, and sugar. Chilled over night, and 1/4 lb strawberries sliced just before serving, in heart shapes.
