Ingredients
2 | onions, chopped |
1 clove(s) | garlic, chopped |
1 tbsp | sesame seeds |
3 drop(s) | sesame oil |
200 g | Feta cheese |
400 g | fresh leaf spinach, trimmed and washed |
salt and pepper | |
nutmeg | |
4 sheet(s) | filo pastry |
1 | egg |
oil, for deep-frying | |
1 small | cucumber |
1 | red chili pepper |
100 ml | rice vinegar |
2 tbsp | sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
Instructions
For the dip, peel and finely dice the cucumber. Finely chop the chili pepper. Mix the vinegar with sugar and salt and combine with the cucumber and the chili.For the filling, roast the onion with garlic and sesame seeds in sesame oil. Add the still wet spinach and cook stirring until the spinach wilts. Stir in the feta cheese and remove the pan from the heat. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Spread out the pastry sheets and divide some of the filling onto each. Whisk the egg and brush the edges of the pastry with the egg. Fold together and roll up. In a deep-fryer or a saucepan, deep-fry the rolls in oil until golden and crispy.
Serve the rolls together with the dip.
