Ingredients
750 g | apples, peeled, cored and quartered |
4 tbsp | lemon juice |
200 g | soft butter |
125 g | sugar |
1 pack(s) | vanilla sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
4 medium | eggs |
150 g | buckwheat flour |
250 g | ground almonds |
2 tsp | cocoa powder |
2 tsp | cinnamon |
½ pack(s) | baking powder |
1 pinch(es) | baking soda |
5 tbsp | milk |
100 g | apricot jam |
Instructions
Carve the rounds of the apple quarters several times. Sprinkle with the lemon juice.In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the eggs and whisk until pale yellow. Stir in the buckwheat flour, almonds, cocoa, cinnamon, baking powder and soda in turn with the milk.
Preheat the oven to 175°C.
Dust a buttered cake form with flour. Pour in the batter and divide the apple quarters, round side up, on top. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Heat the jam and spread the cake with the warm jam. Allow to dry. Serve with whipped cream.
