A big-flavored chili with plenty of meat and beans. You’ll be the hit of the party, even though you slept (or worked, or watched a full day of football) while it cooked. Inspired by Jon’s “Jon’s Beer Chili.”

Ingredients
Serves: 16- 2 pounds ground chuck beef
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 (14.5 ounce) cans diced chili tomatoes
- 3 (8 ounce) cans chili-flavored tomato sauce
- 2 bottles Guinness(R) beer
- 2 (15 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans or mild chili beans
- 1 (15 ounce) can hot chili beans
- 1 (15 ounce) can medium chili beans
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce, or to taste
- 1/3 cup hot chili powder, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 8 hours1. Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain, then transfer to a 6-quart slow cooker. Do the same for sausage.
2. Add remaining ingredients to slow cooker, stir well to combine, and cover. Cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Serve.Tip
To thicken the chili, combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Slowly stir cornstarch mixture into stew with slow cooker set to HIGH, then repeat until desired thickness is reached.
Go The Extra MileUnplug the slow cooker and cool the chili. Chill in refrigerator for 2 days, then reheat to serve.
