Ingredients
Makes: 16 cups- 3 pounds ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon canola oil (olive or other vegetable oil works fine)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 3 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup water
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 3/4 cup salsa verde
- 1 (1 ounce) packet chili seasoning
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 8 hours1. Coat the bowl of a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook turkey in oil until meat is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Drain fat off of meat and transfer to slow cooker.
3. Add remaining ingredients. Cook on Low for 8 hours. Serve.
