This is a good dish to serve on a cold day when the family has been out and about. It is both filling and full of taste. Our family likes it on weekends when we can enjoy the aroma for a few hours before time to eat. For those who like a little extra kick, hot Italian sausage can be substituted for the sweet sausage.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 2 lbs. head of cabbage, coarsely chopped (Including core chopped fine)
- 1 Large onion, coarsely chopped
- 1 Clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 –14 to 16 oz. Can chopped or finely diced tomatoes
- 2 Beef bouillon cubes dissolved in 2 cups of water.
- 1/8 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
- 1-1/2 lbs. Sweet Italian Sausage (Bulk or removed of casing)
- 3 cups water, or as needed (optional – see note.)
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 6 hours1. Combine cabbage, onion, garlic, canned tomatoes, and dissolved bouillon in slow cooker pot.
2. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the vegetables. Stir to blend.
3. Break sausage into acorn-sized pieces and drop over vegetables.
4. Cook on high setting for 6 hours. (Stir several times in the last 2 to 3 hours.)Note:
Add optional water to make into a looser soup.
