Toaster-oven-sized chocolate chip cookies cook up fluffy and tasty. You can make the dough ahead of time and freeze it.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 3/4 cup white sugar
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons Mexican vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups milk chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup nuts unchopped (optional)

Preparation method

Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 10 mins

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add gradually to the butter mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips.
4. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and set 1 inch apart on a baking sheet. Bake each batch for 10 to 12 minutes.Tip
