A quick and easy stir fry, with the ancient flavor of sesame. Guys have been eating sesame flavor for as long as they’ve been cooking…maybe even longer. Wikipedia tells us this: “According to Assyrian legend, when the gods met to create the world, they drank wine made from sesame seeds.”

Ingredients
Serves: 2- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 4 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 teaspoons peanut oil
- 1/2 pound beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 small yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Whisk cornstarch together with broth, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic in a bowl.
2. Pour 1 teaspoon peanut oil into a nonstick skillet and set over high heat. Cook beef with 1 teaspoon sesame seeds in hot oil for about 5 minutes to brown thoroughly, then transfer to a plate and cover with foil.
3. Pour 1 more teaspoon peanut oil into the skillet. When oil is hot, add broccoli and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in pepper and cook for another 5 minutes, until broccoli and pepper are both fork-tender.
4. Drizzle vegetables with the cornstarch beef broth mixture. When liquids come to a boil, cook for 2 minutes to thicken, then stir in cooked beef, add sesame oil, and toss to coat.
5. Serve sprinkled with 1 teaspoon sesame seeds.
