Ingredients
20 g | butter |
1 tbsp | milk |
1 tbsp | golden syrup |
170 g | flour |
1 tsp | cream of tartar |
2 tsp | baking powder |
1 medium | egg |
150 ml | milk |
30 g | caster sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
Instructions
Combine the syrup, butter and 1 tablespoon of milk in a small pan and heat until ingredients are melted. Leave to cool.Sift the dry ingredients together in a bowl and make a well in the center.
Add the egg, melted ingredients and half the mil. Use a spoon to mix into a thick batter.
Stir in the remaining milk and beat with an electric mixer for a couple of minutes.
Lightly grease a frying pan warmed over a medium heat. Drop tablespoons of the batter into the pan and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
