Ingredients
400 g | flour |
salt and pepper | |
42 g | fresh yeast, crumbled |
1 tsp | sugar |
250 g | potatoes, cooked, peeled and sliced |
6 tbsp | oil |
1 | onion, chopped |
400 g | beef mince |
300 g | carrots, thinly sliced |
200 g | leek, thinly sliced |
150 g | freshly grated Cheddar cheese |
4 | eggs |
200 ml | milk |
freshly grated nutmeg |
Instructions
Mix together the flour and 1 teaspoon of the salt. Combine the yeast and the sugar. Mash the potatoes and stir in the yeast mixture, 4 tablespoons of oil and 200ml lukewarm water. Stir in the flour. Knead until the dough is smooth and pliable. Cover and allow to rise at a warm place for an hour.Sauté the onion in 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the minced beef and cook stirring until crumbled. Season with salt and pepper.
Whisk together the egg and the milk. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in the cheese.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Knead the dough again, then roll out and line a buttered springform pan with the dough. Divide 2/3 of the mince mixture on the cake base and cover with carrots and leek. Pour over the milk mixture and bake for 75 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining mince mixture and bake for 10 more minutes.
