Ingredients
1 tbsp | olive oil |
1 medium | onion, chopped finely |
1 stalk(s) | celery, small, chopped finely |
1 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
400 g | veal mince, lean |
1 | egg |
80 g | baby spinach leaves, chopped |
2 tbsp | fresh basil, chopped |
60 g | Parmesan cheese, freshly grated |
pinch(es) | nutmeg |
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste | |
3 sheet(s) | frozen puff pastry, thawed |
1 | egg, beaten |
Instructions
Heat oil in a saucepan. Cook onions, celery and garlic until the onions have softened; cool.Preheat oven to 200°C and lightly grease two baking trays. Combine onions mixture, veal mince, egg, spinach, basil and cheese; mix well. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper. Cut pastry sheets in half.
Place mixture into a large piping bag without a nozzle. Pipe a line of filling down the length of each pastry piece. Brush sides of pastry and roll each pastry piece from one wide edge to enclose filling.
Cut each roll into 4 pieces and place rolls, seam side down, onto baking trays. Brush with egg and pepper. Bake in oven for 30 minutes or until golden.
