Rump steak with tomato and feta recipe details
Ingredients
50 g | cherry tomatoes |
2 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
2 sprig(s) | fresh rosemary |
40 ml | olive oil |
1 tbsp | brown sugar |
1 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | black pepper, freshly ground |
2 | mature rump steaks, 250 -300g each |
40 ml | Marmite |
40 ml | mustard powder |
30 ml | balsamic vinegar |
2 | feta cheese rounds |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200°C.Place the rosemary, garlic and tomatoes on a baking dish and drizzle with some olive oil and a little suger. Season with salt and pepper. Then roast for about 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven until just done.
Spread the steak with a little Marmite, season with pepper and a little mustard, and also drizzle with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Barbecue the rump steaks over hot coals or cook in a griddle pan. Barbecue for 5-7 minutes for rare, or 7-10 minutes for medium done.
Place a a round of feta on a baking sheet and roast until just before it begins to melt when the meat is about to be ready.
To serve place the steak on a hot plate and top with the cheese and tomatoes.
Serving suggestion:Serve with potato wedges and a salad.
