This is a very hearty sauce with two types of meat and fresh vegetables. It was passed from my father to me and with his blessings I want to pass it to everyone in his honor. Thanks Dad! Serve over your favorite pasta. And don’t forget the garlic bread!!!

Ingredients
Serves: 10- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1 pound mild ground sausage
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 2 sweet onions, chopped
- 2 (12 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1 (8 ounce) carton pre-sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 4 ounces minced garlic
- 4 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 3 tablespoons sugar or honey
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon Mrs. Dash(R) Original seasoning
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 50 mins1. Begin by browning ground chuck and sausage, smoothing out lumps. Add chopped bell peppers and onions. Saute until onions are clear.
2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally while cooking.
