Ropa vieja shredded beef recipe details
Shredded beef Cuban style. Serve on top of rice.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 5 tablespoons oil
- 2 1/2 lbs flank steak, cut in strips
- 2 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic or 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 5 ounces of sofrito (cuban sauce)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 1 hour 10 mins1. Heat 3 tbsp. oil in skillet on medium, brown meat on all sides.
2. Remove from skillet, add remaining oil to skillet, stir in garlic, onion green pepper, and salt and cook until translucent.
3. Stir in browned meat, tomato sauce, water, sofrito, and black pepper.
4. Simmer until meat is tender and shreds easily, about 1 hour.
