Roasted Figs with a Nut Filling recipe

Ingredients
8 large | fresh figs, cut and opened from the top |
125 g | mixed chopped nuts, e.g. almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachio and hazelnuts – use 3 different nuts |
3 tbsp | honey |
125 g | cream cheese |
3 tbsp | sugar |
16 | dried dates |
4 tbsp | orange liqueur or other fruit liqueur |
rosewater, orange flower water or vanilla extract |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6, 200C, 400F.
Mix the nuts, honey, icing sugar, cream cheese and liqueur together in a bowl until even.
Open the dates sufficiently to allow the filling to be placed within. Arrange two dates on top, diagonally opposed so that they resemble a ‘V’. Roast for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle lightly with flavouring.
Serve immediately, two figs per serving!
