Roasted figs with a nut filling recipe details
|8 large||fresh figs, cut and opened from the top|
|125 g||mixed chopped nuts, e.g. almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachio and hazelnuts – use 3 different nuts|
|125 g||cream cheese|
|4 tbsp||orange liqueur or other fruit liqueur|
|rosewater, orange flower water or vanilla extract|
InstructionsPreheat the oven to Gas Mark 6, 200C, 400F.
Mix the nuts, honey, icing sugar, cream cheese and liqueur together in a bowl until even.
Open the dates sufficiently to allow the filling to be placed within. Arrange two dates on top, diagonally opposed so that they resemble a ‘V’. Roast for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle lightly with flavouring.
Serve immediately, two figs per serving!
