Rice and pineapple casserole recipe details
Ingredients
1 large | onion, sliced |
200 g | pineapple rings |
6 slice(s) | bacon, cooked, drained, chopped |
600 g | white rice, uncooked |
1 l | water |
2 tbsp | butter |
1 tsp | garlic, minced |
½ tsp | turmeric, ground |
½ tsp | ginger, ground |
180 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
Instructions
Grease a pan and arrange onion slices on bottom. Place pineapple evenly on top of onions, followed by chopped bacon and uncooked rice.In another bowl combine hot water, butter and remaining ingredients, except cheese. Set pan with the pineapple, onions and rice in oven and carefully pour water over mixture.
Cover pan with foil and bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.
Uncover, sprinkle cheese on top. Bake, uncovered, another 15 minutes or until rice is tender.
