Red cabbage with chestnuts recipe details
Ingredients
750 g | red cabbage, shredded |
50 g | lard |
1 | onion, chopped |
1 | apple, peeled, cored and sliced |
300 g | chestnuts, peeled |
¼ l | beef stock |
1 tbsp | vinegar |
2 tbsp | soft red wine |
salt and pepper |
Instructions
Sauté the onions in goose fat or lard. Add the cabbage, the vinegar and the stock, the apples and the chestnuts. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over low heat for at least 1-1,5 hours.Season to taste with salt, pepper, red wine and vinegar.
