Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 (15.5 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 jar medium salsa
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 40 mins1. Brown turkey until cooked through in a medium to large saucepan in vegetable oil over medium heat and set aside.
2. In same pan, saute onions and peppers until tender, approximately 5 minutes.
3. Add browned turkey back into the pan, as well as the drained, dry garbanzo beans. Stir to combine.
4. Add seasonings and water, stir and simmer for 2 minutes.
5. Add salsa, stir to combine, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
