Quick clam chowder recipe details
A very basic clam chowder. Serves as a simple lunch or a recipe you can build your into your own secret chowder.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 2 tablespoons diced bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup diced raw potatoes
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups shucked clams and liquid
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 20 mins1. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, then remove bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels. Add onion to the skillet and cook in bacon fat for about 5 minutes to soften.
2. Pour onions into a saucepan and add potatoes and water. Set over medium-high heat. When water boils, turn heat down to low and cook for about 15 minutes to cook potatoes.
3. Add clams, clam liquid, milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Heat through and serve, sprinkled with bacon.
