Best maryland crab dip just don t tell them it's healthy recipe details
Years of crab-dip experience from a native Marylander and crab connoisseur come together to make healthy and truly amazing crab dip!
Ready in: 40 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 8 ounces reduced fat cream cheese
- 8 ounces fat free cream cheese
- 8 ounces low-fat sour cream
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay(R) seafood seasoning
- 1 package light Cheddar cheese
- 1 pound fresh crab meat (preferrably lump)
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 25 mins1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Let the cream cheese and sour cream sit out and soften. Mix soft cream cheese, sour cream, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, and 1/4 Cup of Light Cheddar Cheese together.
3. Add crab meat after mixed and gently “massage” the crab meat into the mixture (this is done best by hand) in order to not break apart or mush the crab meat.
4. Pour into an 8×12 inch oven-safe glass bowl. Sprinkle a little Cheddar cheese and a lot of Old Bay on top (depending on how spicy you want it).
5. Bake until piping hot throughout, about 20 to 30 minutes.
6. Serve with a loaf of french bread or crackers and watch your friends and family devour this authentic dip (again, don’t tell them its healthy!).
