Pumpkin dessert recipe details
Ingredients
1 | Hokkaido pumpkin |
4 tbsp | sugar |
25 g | butter |
2 strip(s) | zest of an orange, thinly cut off |
100 g | walnuts, coarsely crushed |
100 g | walnuts, halved |
Instructions
Quarter the pumpkin, remove the inner part and the seeds. Cut into 5 cm stripes. In a shallow bowl, place the stripes side by side and sprinkle with sugar. Cover and allow to steep overnight.Transfer the pumpkin with its developed juice into a deep pan and add the orange zest and butter. Bring to the boil, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes or until soft. Leave the pumpkin in the juice and allow to stand until cooled.
Arrange the pumpkin slices on a platter, drizzle with the juice and sprinkle with the crushed walnuts. Serve garnished with the walnut halves.
