Praline topped oven french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- One 12-ounce loaf of French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
- 8 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups half & half
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- Topping
- 3/4 cups softened butter
- 3 Tablespoons dark corn syrup
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
Butter deep 10 x 15-inch pan and fill with bread slices (lay slices flat). Set aside. Beat together eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Pour over bread; refrigerate overnight.
Next morning, combine topping ingredients and spread over bread. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
