Ingredients

1  onion, chopped
6  potatoes, peeled and cut into 2cm cubes
salt and freshly ground black pepper
garlic, crushed
3  bay leaves
8  black peppercorns
1 tsp dill, chopped
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
1 ¼ l water
sour cream

Instructions

In a saucepan bring the onions and the potatoes in salted water to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook for 10-15 minutes until soft.

Add the garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves and the other herbs. Cook for 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Ladle into warmed soup bowls, garnished with a dab of sour cream.
