Potato onion beef casserole recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | minced beef |
6 medium | potatoes, peeled, sliced |
60 g | butter |
2 medium | onions, sliced |
200 ml | tomato paste |
300 ml | beef broth |
4 medium | tomatoes, chopped |
30 ml | vinegar |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Marinate meat in vinegar for about 1 hour.Rinse the beef in cool water. Place meat in a pot and some olive oil and lightly brown the meat.
Add tomato paste and beef broth in a pan. Chop the tomatoes and add them to the meat mixture in the pot.
Cook potatoes in another pot, for about 10 minutes. Sauté onions in a separate saucepan until soft.
Combine beef, potatoes and onion in a casserole dish. Then ladle the meat sauce from the pot into the dish until the potatoes, onions and meat are completely covered.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Bake uncovered for 90 minutes or up to 2 hours.
