Pork loin braised in onion sauce recipe details
Ingredients
5 piece(s) | pork loin medallions, together 500g |
some | olive oil |
400 g | onions, cut into halves and sliced |
1 large | red chilli, seeded and sliced |
3 clove(s) | garlic, finely chopped |
2 tbsp | soy sauce |
1 tsp | sugar |
some | salt, black pepper, paprika, cumin |
150 ml | vegetable or chicken stock |
1 ½ tbsp | corn flour, mixed in little water |
some | chives |
Instructions
Heat oil in a casserole and fry the meat from both sides for about 3 minutes. Remove the meat and set aside.Fry onions for about 4 minutes until translucent. Add chilli and garlic and sautee for a further minute.
Mix soy and sugar and pour over the onions. Season to taste.
Pour in the stock and bring to a short boil. Reduce the heat and place the meat onto the onion mix.
Braise covered for about 50-60 minutes over low heat. If desired stir in the corn flour-water mix to thicken the sauce.
Sprinkle with chives and serve with potatoes/pasta/rice and broccoli.
