Pomegranate and orange dessert recipe details
Ingredients
3 | blood oranges, untreated |
1 | pomegranate |
10 g | butter |
4 tbsp | Grenadine syrup |
4 tbsp | orange liqueur, alternatively: juice from an extra 1/2 orange |
Instructions
Wash the orange in hot water and pat dry. Peel thinly ¼ of an orange and set the zest aside.Peel all oranges, remove the pith thoroughly and fillet the oranges. Soften the pomegranate by kneading it with your fingers, then cut into halves. Press out the juice of one half with a lemon squeezer, sieve the juice and set aside. Put the other half on a plate with the flesh-side downwards and tap with the back of a knife on the pomegranate so that the seeds fall out of the fruit. Set aside.
Gently heat the butter in a pan, add the grenadine, the orange zest and the pomegranate juice and bring to a short boil.
Place the orange fillets in the hot juice mixture in the pan, turn and sprinkle with the orange liqueur, if desired. Remove the zest.
Spoon the orange mixture onto heated plates and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds.
