Ingredients
2 l | water |
1 tsp | salt |
500 g | cornmeal |
Instructions
Bring water to a boil in a large heavy pot. Add salt and reduce heat. Gradually add cornmealand start stirring quickly while adding the cornmeal to avoid lumps. Cook, stirring constantly, 20 to 30 minutes.
Polenta thickens while cooking and stirring.
Pour polenta into a large large platter. Wet your hands and smooth out polenta evenly, about 5cm thick. Let cool 5 to 10 minutes.
Cut cooled polenta into slices and place slices in individual dishes. Serve hot together with your favorite sauce.
