Ingredients

200 g polenta
800 ml vegetable stock
1  onion, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
300 g minced lamb
250 g canned chopped tomatoes with juice
salt and pepper
1 tsp oregano, dried
30 g butter
100 g freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Bring the vegetable stock to the boil, then stir in the polenta. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Rinse a rectangular bowl or dish with cold water, spoon in the firm polenta and flatten. Allow to cool.

Chop the onion, then sauté in a skillet until lucent, add the minced meat and cook stirring until crumbly. Add the tomatoes with their juice and boil down a bit. Season to taste with salt, pepper and oregano.

Divide the minced meat on the bottom of a rectangular dish. Cut the polenta in squares and layer them overlapping on top of the minced meat. Sprinkle with melted butter and the cheese.

Bake for approximately 20 minutes at 200°C.
