Plum dumplings recipe details
Ingredients
75 ml | milk |
21 g | yeast |
250 g | flour |
100 g | butter |
1 | egg |
1 | egg yolk |
1 tbsp | icing sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
4 tbsp | milk |
½ | lemon, zest grated |
4 tbsp | plum compote |
2 tsp | oil |
30 g | poppy seeds |
150 ml | water |
Instructions
Heat the milk until lukewarm. Add the yeast and stir until dissolved. Sift in 30 g of the flour. Allow to rise for 20 minutes.Melt 50 g of butter. Stir in the egg, egg yolk, icing sugar, 4 tbsp of milk, salt and lemon zest.
In a bowl, combine the yeast mixture, the egg mixture and 220 g of the flour. Knead until pliable and smooth. Allow to rise for 30 minutes. Shape to a roll and quarter. Flatten the dough pieces and place 1 tablespoon of plum compote in the middle of each, wrap with the dough and form dumplings. Allow to rise for another 20 minutes.
Coat the dumplings with oil. In a wide pot, bring the water to a boil. Arrange the dumplings in the pot and cook in the firmly closed pan over low heat for 20-25 minutes.
Melt 50 g of butter. Add the poppy seeds and cook over low heat for 4-5 minute.
Pour the poppy seed butter over the dumplings and serve.
