Ingredients

1  pizza dough, Neapolitan – style
1 kg plum tomatoes, peeled and seeded
4 tbsp olive oil
2 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp basil, ripped by hand
¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a sauce pan, add garlic and heat for 1 minute.

Add tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 30-60 minutes to reduce the juice from the tomatoes.

When done spread on pizza, top with your favorite toppings and bake at 230°C.

Suggestions for toppings:Sliced fresh mozzarella, fresh basil leaves and/or some shaved parmesan. Drizzle some olive oil on top. Bake until mozzarella is melted.
