Perfect pecan pie recipe details
For the pecan pie connoisseur, this is the richest flavor you’ll find! I think this is the perfect combination of sugars and nuts to produce the ideal flavor and texture. For the pie crust, believe it or not, the refrigerated rolls of pie dough from the store are great for this pie. (Don’t buy the pre-molded pie crust!)
Ready in: 1 hour 5 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 1 pie shell
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (not halves)
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 50 mins1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Mold pie dough into a 9-inch pie pan.
2. Pre-bake the crust for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce heat to 375 before proceeding to mix your ingredients.
3. Mix all ingredients well without the nuts. Add nuts last and pour into pie crust.
4. Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 375 in the upper portion of your oven (to avoid burning the crust and letting the filling seep under it). If you place the pie correctly in your oven, you should not have to use pie crust shields to keep the edges from burning.
5. Cool for at least an hour and serve warm or cold with freshly whipped cream.
