Pecan praline french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cubes (6 ounces) of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1 loaf french bread, cut into 1 inch slices
- 8 eggs, beaten
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- several dashes of cinnamon
In a 12 x 15-inch rectangular pan, melt butter as oven heats, being careful not to burn it. Stir in brown sugar. Sprinkle with pecans. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and stir in milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Dip slices of bread into egg mixture. Arrange slices over brown sugar mixture in pan. Pour any remaining egg mixture over bread. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Invert each slice onto plates. Does NOT need syrup.
